Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies

Here is a twist from your everyday chocolate chip cookie…Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies. I came across this recipe from Picky Palate this weekend and thought I would give it a try. I would not say these are the most beautiful cookies (if you every need cookies that might resemble rocks for a party or child’s project, these might work out perfect) they are quite tasty.

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies makes about 4 dozen cookies

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 cup  white  sugar
3/4 cup  brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 Cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1  teaspoon salt
16-20 Oreo Cookies, finely chopped
2 Cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, and sugars until well combined. Add egg and vanilla until mixed well.
Place flour, baking soda and salt into a large bowl, stir to combine. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients then stir in oreos and chocolate chips until just combined.
With a medium cookie scoop, scoop onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until cooked, but still soft. Let cool on baking sheet for 3 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
